Why Kickstart UK?
A national Kickstart gateway for SMEs
Kickstart UK is a gateway service for small and medium businesses that allows you to access Kickstart funding. Wages are covered by the government, plus we give you up to £1,000 grant funding to cover your on-costs and provide £500 worth of high-quality employability support to keep the young person motivated at work.
Full wages paid
The Government pays the wages of the young person at National Minimum Wage for 25 hours a week. We guide you through every step.
Kickstarters can study towards recognised qualifications alongside our employability support. Not all Kickstart gateways offer this.
The Kickstart scheme is a £2 billion fund to help employers create hundreds of thousands of high quality 6-month work placements for young people.
The placement must be an ‘additional’ job. This means you can’t be recruiting for it already or replacing furloughed or redundant staff. Don’t get caught out by this. If you’re unsure we can talk you through what’s eligible.
Supporting you along the way
